SO WHO IS JANE MORREY?

From my very first lesson, September, 1975; to teaching pupils of all ages,
Music is what I live for!

The day I got my first organ, a very basic Yamaha with 3 sound tabs and a choice of 5 rhythms, I thought Reg Dixon, eat your heart out!   And from this point the organ was everything to me. I played in concerts for my tutor, entertained the elderly, played for a friend’s wedding; even entered a talent competitions.
As my tutor’s workload had increased she requested that I help her out with some teaching. From this point, I never looked back. Music was about to take on a totally different meaning and teaching became my passion.
I took a part time job in a Lichfield shop, and spent the rest of the time building up my clientele; until eventually, I begged the Organ Studios to accept me on a YTS scheme, so I could concentrate on teaching full time. They agreed, and after 6 months, working for £25 a week, in September 1981 I became self-employed.

Being based at a music retail outlet brought me some wonderful experiences – exhibitions – concerts – demonstrations and having the honour of being a part of the team for the American Company ‘Baldwin’ at the annual Music Trade Show in London

Over the years I’ve met some wonderful people and had great opportunities put before me. For example, Social Function entertaining at numerous functions over the years like the Mayor of Lichfield’s Banquet, The Annual Bower Queen selection night; and of course, had many gigs providing music for dinners, shows, promotion evenings and such.
In 1999, a Church music group to help them to create up beat music for their services approached me. This lead to me writing my own material (now put on the back burner for ideas for a future project) and that lead to becoming musical director for a production of Joseph and his Technicoloured Dreamcoat, October 2000, - where I re-arranged the material, played it and stored to disk; thus leaving my hands free to conduct a choir.
As an extension of my teaching and love of music, I also give Talks & Presentations for small groups/organisations. (info on site)
